Wolfbane has been recognized both locally and nationally for its many contributions to Appomattox, Lynchburg, Central Virginia, and the greater theater industry.

Nationally, Wolfbane was chosen by Hollywood screenwriter Cinco Paul (Schmigadoon!, Despicable Me, Bubble Boy) for the professional premiere of his musical Bubble Boy in 2016, as well as the world premiere of the hit parody musical Stranger Sings in 2019 & 2021, written specifically for the Wolfbane stage. In 2022, Wolfbane brought home NINE Broadway World Awards including Best Play, Best new Musical or Play, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Lighting Design and more! Many of its acting alums have moved onto Broadway and touring productions, such as Aladdin & Company's Jacob Dickey (Bubble Boy 2016), Oklahoma's Gillian Hassert (Young Frankenstein 2021), Wicked's Matthew Densky (The Rocky Horror Show), Becoming Nancy's Jason Goldston (Sweeney Todd), Beautiful's Kevin Hack (Wolfbane's Romeo and Juliet), Aladdin's Korie Lee Blossey (A Midsummer Night's Dream), The Play That Goes Wrong's Katie Sexton (Evil Dead: the Musical) and Michael Kurowski (Wolfbane's MacBeth), and the new off-Broadway show Nightclub Cantata's Sarah Nandola (Camp Crystal Lake 2022) to name a few.

Locally, in 2016 Executive Director Ken Arpino wrote a Broadway show from Lynchburg, VA and was named Millennial on the Move by Lynchburg Magazine. In 2018 Artistic Director Dustin Williams was the recipient of the University of Lynchburg’s M. Carey Brewer Alumni Award in recognition of his “contributions to society” and the arts. Wolfbane has also been recognized as Best of Lynchburg by Lynchburg Living.
